This site is free to read and is paid for by commission. What that means in practice is set out below.

Where the money comes from

Some outbound links to providers are affiliate links. If you follow one and subscribe, this site receives a commission from that provider. The price is identical whether you use the link or type the address yourself.

What it does not change

The console is arithmetic. A commission cannot make a plan cheaper, and the service we earn most on is not the cheapest at four of the five terms — the table says so plainly, because it divides numbers rather than expressing opinions.

Where a service we are paid on prices something badly, the shortfall is printed. Three of the five entries on this site carry a plain warning in their verdict.

Why it works this way

Every plan in the console is bought at full retail and held through at least one renewal, on every term the provider sells. Commission covers those subscriptions and the time. Without it there would be no console, or there would be one funded by the providers directly, which is worse.
